Food Insecurity

Just how bad might things get by the 2050s or 2080s? Mess around with this interactive map, created by the U.K.’s national weather service and the World Food Programme, to get an idea of what levels of carbon reductions and adaptation activities will bring in regard to food insecurity. According to the World Health Organization, more than 795 million people worldwide are currently food insecure, which means that food is either unavailable, inaccessible, or not nutritious. As the map shows, the less we do to curb climate change, the more hungry, empty bellies there will be.
